22-24 August, 2022 | Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia
Last August 22-24, the SocDem Asia Parliamentarians' Caucus conducted its "Advancing the SDGs in Asia" conference, co-hosted by the Democratic Action Party (DAP) of Malaysia and supported by the Social Democratic Party of Denmark. The two-day conference was an opportunity for social democratic parliamentarians in the region to look into the current progress in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), the challenges and issues its implementation faces, and ways forward to its full achievement. The parliamentarians ended the conference by adopting a conference statement titled "Social Democrats for SDGs" outlining the task ahead for social democratic parties and parliamentarians as well as parliaments to push for fulfilling the SDGs. The statement also calls on social democrats to take the lead in such an endeavor."
